I know people are very concerned about how something they've just bought will be packaged - especially if it's valuable and rare. I also know all too well the disappointment of receiving something damaged in the post because of lazy, cheap and shoddy packaging. So, therefore to assure my buyers that their goods will be carefully packed, I will explain in detail below how I prepare and package my items.FLAT ITEMS such as folded posters, lobby cards, press books, etc, are put into polythene sleeves and then placed between two pieces of THICK card before being sealed in a'Do Not Bend' envelope. The extra card will make this package an absolute minimum of 15 mm thick to prevent bending. ROLLED POSTERS are placed inside a sleeve of polythene tubing and then put into a 3 inch diameter tube which has strong 2.5 mm thick walls. The poster will be cushioned at both ends inside the tube with tissue paper or bubble wrap, etc, to prevent movement.
The ends of the tube will be tape-sealed on the outside. LINEN-BACKED POSTERS and irregular sized or shaped posters will be rolled in kraft paper, and then bubble-wrapped. Depending on the type of poster the tube may be anything between a 3 inch and 6 inch diameter. All tubes will have minimum 2.5 mm thick walls. OTHER MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS such as collectable figures, props, etc, will be bubble-wrapped and cushioned with crushed paper or something similar inside a sturdy cardboard box.
ANYTHING SEALED inside any package (polythene sleeve, cardboard, bubble-wrap, etc) is done with masking tape. I find this is strong enough to seal securely, but the low stickiness of it means it is easy to remove, and therefore will not cause any damage by accidentally sticking to the item. Multiple items of the same type I. It may combine at checkout, but I don't know for sure.
