Original Vtg - Dance Craze - UK Quad - Feb 1981 - 30"x40". This poster - especially in this original & pristine condition - is very rare. Released in February 1981, Dance Craze chronicles the huge popularity of the Ska-MOD/Two-Tone Revival: through live performances from all the major contemporary acts - following its origins as an underground club scene in the late 70s to reaching a a national (& international) peak in the early-mid 80s. Which ultimately entered school yards, colleges & high streets - across the length & breadth the UK - and became a youth phenomena on a scale present generations of younger people would probably find hard to grasp.

The poster benefits from a striking Black & White design that aesthetically is both true to the'two-tone look' WHILST successfully capturing the youthful enthusiasm of the time. Additionally, the use of traditional off-set printing methods onto traditional heavier matt poster stock creates an almost screen print effect. Representing the very last generation of UK quads to be produced in this way; before glossy finishes & photo-based tech was to change the industry for ever. As described, the poster remains in perfect condition, and was possibly never displayed. And although it has the original printer's 9 folds - they remain clean and unworn - and have not suffered from the regular opening & closing that is so often the case.

In fact, in the 29 years I've owned it, it has only been opened 3-4 times. Due to its excellent condition it would display very well just as it is - with a framer being able to reduce the existing folds. ; it could transform this poster into a serious piece of interior design. In the Mid-90s I collected Vintage Movie Posters: And all being offered here have been carefully stored, in poster tubes in cool, dry clean conditions since. Concurrently & subsequently I have also collected a number of music posters - again, all being offered are originals only.
