1980 1st print Star Wars Empire Strikes Back UK Quad movie poster linen backed

  

This UK Quad poster is the rare and much more valuable first print of the 1980 Empire Strikes Back Star Wars cinema poster with a stunning imagery and intensity and depth of colour. This poster has recently been professionally linen backed by a London based poster specialist - a reversible process that significantly increases the visual look of the poster, makes it much more robust, and makes it simple to be framed for display. This poster has the renowned Tom Jung art that was prepared for the first UK release of The Empire Strikes Back.

The first print run featured the silver Title that was discontinued on subsequent prints due to the high cost of applying a metallic paint as a secondary print process. This first print is also renowned for the quality and intensity of the colours that are far better than the subsequent non-silver titled posters. This is therefore the more valuable and collectable original poster of the iconic film. I got this poster in the 1980s when seeing the film as a 12 year old boy and putting my name down on a list at my local cinema (in Elgin in NE Scotland).
